I was distracted by almond blossom, again, on the dog walk, so the dogs took themselves to the acequia for a drink and mess around. I didn't have chance to get onto the correct settings before they decided to jump across and come say hello 😁

Rita found her inner Shepherd and stayed guarding me while I took photos. Usually she runs off on her own adventures, more often the inner husky has a stronger pull.
Arko found and listened to his inner husky and disappeared on his own adventure for an hour! Usually he stays beside me while I take photos.

We took the dogs to the river for a walk today. It's really a stream, not rivers how we know them to be, but hey it's a close to a river you get around here. Anyway for the summer months they partially dam part of it to make a pool. Two years ago we taught our dogs to swim here and each year we visit a couple of times. Arko was straight in no encouragement needed ❤️

Six week check up for Rita - x-ray shows complete healing of the break in her pelvis 🙏 She has been signed off 🥳 Tomorrow we can start short walks with her on a lead. She had a nice sleep 😴 at the vets for an hour and half sleeping off the drugs and is now doing the same at home 🥰 The picture is of when she was given her sleepy drugs before the x-ray was taken.

Another windy day in Lanjaron. It started to build while I was out with Arko this morning. Yesterday was crazy with a couple of gusts over 75 km/hr, hoping today won't be so bad even if the alerts are still being activated. I don't think the greenhouse will survive another onslaught like yesterday.

Not quite the morning the dogs thought they were having. Both Rita and Arko at the vets. Rita to get a dental and Arko to have a small tumour removed from his eye. I don't think the dogs are going to talk to us again 😬 There is a lot of complaint coming from both of them already. I fear Arko will give us husky hell once his legs have recovered sufficiently 😂

This boy still has the stitches in his eye. Because he has leishmaniasis the wound is taking longer than usual to heal, but the tumour removal site is looking good. That's why we are getting so many trips down to the coast, vet visits.

We are in a drought in #Spain some reservoirs are in single figures of their potential capacity. This past week, and this weekend, has been wet, it's been wonderful. It won't cure our drought but it will go towards helping us get through another summer. View from this mornings dog walk, we went to the ermita again. I love how the dogs place themselves for a photo when we visit. There was much excitement in the early hours of the morning, we had a band of storms roll through. We were woken not long after 1am and enjoyed hours of thunder rolling around the hills and a spectacular light show. Sadly not much rain fell. Rita often takes herself off to stand on top of things that give her some extra height to survey the goings on. Today on our walk she looked great against the Andalucian blue winter sky. She maybe 11 but she still believes she is the fastest dog in the world!
