It always pays to stop and look at the view behind you when you are walking. The north faces of and dominating the skyline with the rising above . The red roof of refugio San Fransico standing out.

Where in the world am I? It certainly doesn't feel like Southern Spain, in particular Andalucia. We have gone from autumn to winter in the blink of an eye. The Sierra Nevada mountains are looking quite splendid in it's first winter outfit.

Can you spot the face in the mountains? It looks like a giant laying down. One from our walk on Tuesday.

At the top a light blue winter sky with high cloud whisking through it. Below the sky are lightly snow covered mountains of the Sierra Nevada. In front of those mountains are more mountains but one looks like a human face, side view. As the sun set on Christmas day we were treated to a great view of the mountains in north Africa.
