Soon our hillsides will be covered by almond blossom, it's a remarkable sight and one we look forward to every year. These particular trees are always early and the bees love them. I do fear for these ones though because we are due a big drop in temperature from Wednesday across Spain, including the Alpujarras 🥶

Spring is definitely on her way 🌸 A few of my favourites from the dog walk 😁
Giant orchid (Himantoglossum robertianum) is taking it time to unfurl it's flowers.
Those gorgeous tiny Narcissus, again.
And whatever these are. Still unsure on the name of them, but the scent from them is definitely Hyacinth and heavenly 😍 So if you know the name please let me know.

There is something special about Bluebell woodland ❤️ I've enjoyed reconnecting with this one close to my parents home.

Isn't it great when you come upon an unexpected plant. Aquilegia vulgaris L. subsp. nevadensis is an endemic species, classified as vulnerable and is on the Red List of the Vascular Flora of Andalucia. I only know of a couple of areas where this plant grows, usually see it in early June, but not this year it's out and flowering already I expect due to the dry winter and spring we have had.

I enjoy my Four O Clock flowers seeing what colours they have decided to come out in. They are mostly multicoloured and not often just one solid colour. Mine don't flower at four o clock they are much later as the sun goes down. Proper name Mirabilis jalapa, or another common name The marvel of Peru.

The Hardenbergia violacea is in flower and the Carpenter bees LOVE it.

A few more types of wild orchid are starting to flower now. I'm still missing some that would usually be out about now. When the weather picks up, which will be next week now, I shall get out see what else I can find.

This tiny wild orchid known as the Mirror Orchid (Ophrys speculum). The camera has taken a picture from above looking down onto the flower.
A wild orchid known as Sawfly Orchid (Ophrys tenthredinifera). The picture is taken of the flower looking directly at it.
Wild orchid known as the Pink Butterfly Orchid (Orchis papilionacea). The picture has been taken looking directly into one of the flowers

Back in the UK for a week, timed it right with Bluebell season. These little beauties were up at the church yard. Looking forward to getting to the local woodland at the weekend to see a full display. Just a shot from the mobile.

From the garden this past week.

A type of Allium. As sphere shape with pinkish tones on a slim brown stem with blurred dead brown grass behind.
The first Passion flower of the year. I have no idea how to describe this crazy purple flower with mostly blurred out green leaves behind.
A baby apple among the green leaves of the tree. The tree was only planted this year and this is it's first fruit. It's a Pink Lady variety.
A black cat with tan bits throughout her coat laying fast asleep on outdoor furniture. She says to wake her when summer is over. I didn't have the heart to tell her it's only just started!
