Adventures, wildlife, and life in the Alpujarras

When I visit Patagonia, one of the many joys about being there is getting to see these birds up close. The Andean Condor, wow what a bird it is. Weighing in at 15kg and a wingspan up to over 3m it is one of the largest flying birds in the world.

An Andean Condor perched on a rock face with a grey river below and behind. The rock face is on the right half of the picture. The bird is black and white. Mostly a black body, with white on it's wings and a white ruff around its bold black/grey head. It has a read eye. An Andean Condor perched on a rock face with a grey river below and behind.
